The New Era of Fitness

The pandemic changed everything. That’s not really news to anyone.

Overnight everything got flipped upside down and we all had to try to adapt to this new world.

What I found surprising is that not all the changes were bad, especially when it came to fitness.

First of all, I think the importance of a good fitness program became very clear, especially when access to traditional gyms was taken away.

Just when we needed a way to stay active and alleviate stress the ways that we do those things were suddenly gone and we all had to scramble to figure out what our fitness programs look like in this new world.

Change is a part of life, and that change can either be a headwind that impedes our progress, or it can be a tailwind that moves us forward faster than before.

And in a lot of cases That’s really what I see happening with this new era of fitness.

 

All the Benefits of In-Person Training Are Available Online

When The Fix was shut down by the pandemic, we had to figure out a way to keep moving our clients forward on their fitness journey without the brick-and-mortar gym.

We were literally forced to come up with something new.

So we took everything that makes our program work and translated into an online program.

That’s when I realized that there are a lot of advantages to online training.

And in many ways, it’s actually better.

There are a couple reasons you get better results with a good fitness program, and they don’t really have anything to do with exercise or nutrition.

There are 3 elements that really make the difference when you are trying to get fit; guidance, support, and a gentle accountability.

As humans, we’re just not great at holding ourselves accountable to work out and eat right and a lot of the time we’re not really sure how to do those things anyway.

The guidance, support and that gentle accountability all translate beautifully to online.

Which means all the best parts of a fitness program are available online now. The only real difference is that it’s more just a lot more convenient.

 

Online Fitness Programs are More Convenient

One of the most significant obstacles to a sticking to a regular fitness routine is time.

The demand for our time is increasing and we all struggle to find time for everything that there is to do between work and family and trying to carve out a little bit of time for ourselves.

It was hard to find time for self-care time before the pandemic.

And that’s what makes training online so great; it’s a lot more convenient so the obstacles that were standing in your way, like time, are taken away and now all of the best parts of a good fitness program are available to you right there at your fingertips.

  • You don’t have to travel to and from the gym and fight traffic.
  • You can work your workouts into your schedule instead of worrying when the gym will be open
  • You can work out in the privacy of your home without worrying about how you look
  • You can literally throw on some sweats, click a link on your computer and get a kick ass workout faster and easier than pre-pandemic.

I believe that convenience is what will make this a whole new era of fitness.

 

Build Your Own Workout Experience

I opened The Fix Gym because I wanted the experience of working out to be a pleasant one. I figured that if the experience was good, it would be easier to come back and keep working on your fitness.

It will be just what you want and need to encourage you to keep working towards your fitness goals because you’re creating the experience yourself.

Online training is not only making fitness more customizable and more pleasant, it’s actually changing the way that we look at the space we work out in.

 

And that is just a few ways that I believe we’ve entered a whole new era of fitness.
